Klett USA is part of the Klett Group, one of the largest publishing groups in the world. Language learning is an essential part of this group’s history, which was founded in 1897.

1921
In the 1920s, Klett publishes its first school books for the Würtemberg region of Germany. The first materials for teaching German would arrive in 1967.
1988-1990
The Difusión publishing house, created in 1988 and specializing in Spanish language education, joins the Klett Group in 1990. Currently, Difusión is Spain’s leading international publisher for teaching Spanish.
2007
The offices of Éditions Maison des Langues, the publisher that revolutionized the teaching of French with the publication of the first textbook using a task-based approach, Rond-Point, open in Paris.
2012
The publishing house specializing in Italian, Casa delle Lingue, is established in 2012, bringing forth a breath of fresh air to the teaching of the language of Dante.

DIFUSION
Difusión has been publishing language materials for educators and students for more than 30 years. Today the company operates in 107 countries all over the world and their 60-plus staff members work with more than 200 contributors.
Their mission is to help students learn Spanish they can use in real-life situations. And they do it by creating engaging and meaningful content that sparks their curiosity and motivates them to learn. Difusion team members strongly believe that educators play a key role in language learning, and part of their mission is to support them and give them opportunities for professional development.

Éditions Maison des Langues has been publishing language materials for educators and students for more than 14 years. Today it operates in nearly 100 countries all over the world and its 80-plus staff members work with more than 150 contributors. In recent years, as a result of its research and market development efforts, it has collected feedback from many educators working in a variety of educational contexts in the U. S. As a result, its team has learned a great deal about what it means to teach French today and it is able to present new books specifically designed or carefully selected for the U. S. market.
