What is a Book Code & how can I get one?

A Book Code is a single-use online product license that will provide you with access to a digital textbook from Klett. All Book Codes are valid for 14-months after activation. If you purchased the Impuls Deutsch Blended Bundle, your Book Code is located inside the front cover.

For all other products, Book Codes are sold separately and can be purchased only at www.klett-usa.com. Please check with your instructor to determine which Book Codes you need to purchase, if any. All Book Code sales are final and cannot be refunded.

 

How can I tell if my Book Code is still valid?

If you have activated a Book Code in the past, check to see if all of the chapters are visible. If so, then your product license is still valid. If you can only see the free material at the beginning of the book (up to 3 chapters), you need to purchase a new Book Code.

 

Is the Book Code included with my physical book?

No. Book Codes are always sold separately (a la carte). For all products other than the Impuls Deutsch Blended Bundle, we do not package Book Codes with physical books. You must purchase a Book Code at www.klett-usa.com, and you will receive an email containing the code. Please check your SPAM folder if you do not receive it in your inbox shortly.

 

Can I buy a Book Code at a bookstore?

No. Book Codes are only available online.

 

How do I activate my Book Code?

For first-time users, go here for a tutorial.

If you already have a student profile, go to the “Subjects” area in your BlinkLearning profile, and click on “Add Books” on the right hand side of the screen. Enter your Book Code where the prompt asks you to enter your License.

 

Can I return my Book Code for a refund?

No. All digital product sales are final.

 

I have already activated my Book Code, and I’d like to give it to a friend. Is this possible?

No. Online Book Codes are non-transferrable. They may only be activated once by one user.

 

I lost my Book Code. Can I get a new one?

Book Codes only need to be activated once and may only be activated by one user. If you need your Book Code for account recovery purposes, please check your email. If you deleted your Book Code after it was emailed to you, contact us here.

 

The Book Code in my Impuls Deutsch Blended Bundle does not work. Can I get a new one?

If you bought a new book, then you need to be sure you are logging into your account properly. If you cannot access your account, it's possible that you created your account with a typo in your username. Please contact us here, include your Book Code, and we will reach out to you shortly.

If you bought a used book, then the Book Code has likely been activated already. You must purchase a single-use replacement license here.

 

What is a Class Code and how do I get one?

A Class Code is a unique code beginning with “CL-” that connects a student profile with a teacher profile. Your teacher must provide you with a Class Code. We recommend that you create your student user profile with your Class Code before you activate a Book Code.

 

How do I access my book? BlinkLearning states that I do not have a license.

Each user of BlinkLearning must purchase and activate a Book Code from Klett USA to see the book beyond the free content. If you purchase your Book Code from the Klett USA webstore, you will receive an email with your Book Code. This Book Code must be activated in your “Subjects” area in your Blinklearning profile.

You must have an active Book Code for each product assigned to your course. If you have properly activated a Book Code and are still experiencing troubles, check to see if there are additional books in your course that you need a license for. 

Sometimes your teacher will accidentally assign additional books to your online classroom that are not required. If this is the case, and you cannot access your book, tell your teacher to remove the unnecessary books from your online classroom.

 

I have purchased a Book Code, but I cannot log in.

At the login page, click on “Forgot your password?” to enter your email and reset your password. Check your SPAM messages if you do not see an email shortly. If you still do not receive an email, you may have entered your email/username incorrectly when you created your user profile. To access your account if you spelled your email incorrectly, you must contact help@blinklearning.com with the Book Code that you purchased and an explanation of the problem, and they will send you your username and a reset password.

 

How long is my Book Code valid?

14 months after activaton.

 

How do I remove a book from my online classroom?

Klett is happy to provide teachers with free BlinkLearning access to products that students will also be using. However, it is necessary that any books that students will not have licenses for are removed from the classroom. To do so, go to the My students area, and then click on "Content". You will see the books assigned to the course. Click on "Edit" on the right hand side of the screen. Then click on the "X" to remove the books that are not needed by students.

 

How do I return my purchased print book for a refund?

Books and items that are unused, still in new condition and/or in plastic wrap, may be packed well and then returned to our warehouse for a refund. A restocking fee may apply.  Please mail items to:

How do I return a defective or damaged book?

If an item you have purchased arrives damaged or defective, you may call us at 708-689-0409 for further instructions about how to receive a discount, replacement, or credit. We will work to provide you with a prompt solution. Calls about a damaged or defective item must be made within 10 days of receiving the item.
