The Adoptions Manager will be vital to our company’s growth and success. This role will work with a variety of internal stakeholders, state instructional materials officials, and districts to manage state and district-level adoptions. The main role of the Adoptions Manager will be to facilitate RFPs, school, state, and district contracts, and the organization and management of adoption-related tasks.

This is a new position at our growing company. Our ideal candidate is an experienced, high-achieving professional with an entrepreneurial spirit and the drive to create, grow, and refine new processes.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare for and lead company participation in state adoptions: establish contacts at the state level, manage paperwork and deadlines, maintain accurate records
  • Organize and manage timeline of state adoption requirements. Arrange and facilitate internal kick-off meetings to explain the adoption cycle, needs, and assignments. Manage the cycle from start to finish; prepare for next cycle
  • Manage all state vendor portals
  • Coordinate closely with sales, editorial, and marketing teams
  • Organize, interpret, analyze ROI, and facilitate district adoptions and RFPs
  • Maintain a database of completed RFPs and other submissions
  • Communicate effectively with internal stakeholders, coordinate and delegate responsibilities as appropriate
  • Maintain up-to-date state and district information in CRM
  • Create and regularly update 5-year forecast of state adoptions, preparation needed, and the estimated value of each upcoming adoption
  • Report regularly on won and lost adoptions; status of active adoption processes
  • Develop work flows with internal departments for all adoptions
  • Other tasks as appropriate

 

Qualifications and Skills:

  • 3+ years’ experience in educational adoptions, publishing, law, or a related field
  • 5+ years of professional experience
  • Management aptitude and experience
  • Profound knowledge of the US K-12 educational system
  • Outstanding communication skills, including interpersonal, intercultural, leadership, and conflict resolution skills
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and creative problem-solving skills
  • Excellence in organization, time-management, prioritization, and project-management
  • Ability to analyze processes and information, identify problems and trends, and develop effective solutions and strategies
  • Commitment to providing exceptional service to customers and support to staff members
  • Ability and ease in working with contractual language and requirements
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally on an occasional basis
